Quoth Logan Pearsall Smith

I've pulled two posts in as many days and I'm getting so fussy about it, it makes me wonder whether I'm blogging or writing. Time to go back to writing quotes as a standby-

"What I like in a good author isn't what he says, but what he whispers."
– Logan Pearsall Smith

That was from the Creative Screenwriting Weekly Newsletter, and not that I familiar at all with Mr. Smith, yet here is another quote from him-

"People say that life is the thing, but I prefer reading."

Don't worry about what your posts look like. I have set the bar so low that you will always be better than me!

Sky Dad,

On the contrary, your blog strikes the perfect balance of serious stuff and humor.

Too many authors pop in here for me to be as cheeky as I was during my old Write Procrastinator days. Also, I don't like putting up stories that are only 45% complete, not knowing if I'll ever finish them.

That is totally my husband's attitude. He hates things laid out like the Thanksgiving turkey. Just a hint.

Great quotes.

I apologize for not commenting when visiting recently.

I like the way you do things here. I think you're too hard on yourself.

That's a great quote, and I heartily concur.

Patti,

Half the beauty of books is figuring things out yourself. That's why after my attempt at screenwriting, that I don't enjoy movies as much as I used to. Movies are too straight-ahead, bludgeon the audience over the head, hit them one more time with the mallet, til' their dead, Jim.

That's what I loved about the new "Star Trek," I didn't guess the banter and the counter-banter. Not to mention the only thing I accurately guessed was that Kirk would pull Ayel's gun (Nick Cage did the same thing to The Rider Of The Apocalypse in "Raising Arizona"). I loved to be surprised and I love nuance.

Bubs,

Thanks.
No problem.
Sometimes I'm not hard enough on myself, but it is a blog and not a book.

Muffin,

You're just saying that so that I stop moping around the house.

I dig that second quote and saved it.

Geez, I'm glad to know you pulled the posts....only because Ive been trying to log on to them and kept getting thrown out into cyber space. I thought maybe you had blocked me. Yikes. Shudder the thought.

Never doubt yourself, my good man.

David,

Apparently Pearsall Smith was quite an essayist. The second was pulled from the Quotations Page.

Pyzahn,

Why, oh why would I block you? I don't doubt me, I doubt my posts.

Maybe you are just typing!

Don't be self doubting! This is a destination blog!

Love the quotes
