Well, according to the "Published" portion of my "Edit Posts" section, this is post number 300. I was considering filling this little space with some writing-based kvetch, but that's no way to celebrate something. I wanted to do some book reviews, but I'm no Corey Wilde or Marilyn Stasio.

So, why don't we make this about you, the reader?

"Tell Me Something Good," Rufus And Chaka Kahn.

"Tell me, tell me, tell me," Fastway.

"Don't Tell Me You Love Me," Night Ranger.

"Say Anything," John Cusack and Ione Skye...just keep it fairly apolitical, short, and sweet.

Congrats. I thought The Readrer was a rubbish film. See what I did then?

I don't know how to spell fun "noises", so I'll just say congrats and leave you with this ditty from Peter Gabriel.
........................

and all my instincts,
they return
and the grand facade,
so soon will burn
without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

in your eyes
the light the heat
in your eyes
I am complete
in your eyes
I see the doorway to a thousand
churches
in your eyes

Boombox wielding Lloyd Dobler, wooing Diane Court.

(What ever happened to Ione Skye?)

Sky Dad,

Thanks.

Gifted,

Thanks and...

"pedantic?"

...ouch.

Becky,

Thanks, though I know that's like a four month output for you.

Editor JDC,

Cool!
As a dinosaur, thanks!
Cool!

Paulie Decibels,

Ta, and you've lost me completely.

Pyzahn,

Heh-heh-heh. Come out of the rain, you'll get pneumonia!

Whatever happened to Ione? She's mooching off her dad, Donavan (quite right, Slick). Naw, she's still working apparently, though in nothing I've seen.

no no no

pedantic, meant in the sweet sense of describing one who relishes words and deploys them to exercise intelligence

Besides, it was a fast route to a p-word which I needed there!

A P-word in the Margaret Atwood spirit of

Princess Prunella and the Purple Peanut

Gifted,

I don't know...the majority of the definitions for that word say otherwise and I've never heard it used in that context. Heck, even "peen" would've been better in a sense.

; )

Gifted Typist said...

I know, negative connotation but apply though my own p-word filters, it shouldn't be taken that way

My sigO is called PedAnthony, lovingly by all in our family

Corey Wilde said...

Congrats on #300. And thanks for mentioning my name in the same sentence as Marilyn Stasio.

Pedantic? You? Never! Perspicacious, perhaps?

Cormac Brown said...

Corey,

Thank you and you're welcome.

"Perspicacious, perhaps?"

No, I the deodorant I use is more than adequate.
