Got writer's block? Apparently there's an app for that

While I've been wrestling with a story for almost three months and me becoming a story teller's version of Captain Ahab is almost a certainty, I don't have writer's block. If you do, however, apparently there's an app for that.

It's called Writer's Block Buster. It generates character development, scenarios, etc...and it is meant to defeat all the roadblocks you might encounter as a writer.

Now if only they had an app that helps with consistency and quality, I'd buy that for a dollar, RoboCop.

Very interesting to say the least.

The best writer's block tools I've found are "What if?" and "Why?" At least they work for me.

The best tool to break writer's block for me is to shut off the TV.

David,

I'm just amazed at how technology has gotten so much smaller. There used to a screenwriting program that did pretty much the same thing and that was created right around Windows 95 (it might've came out around Win 3.1). Now here is a smaller version right on your phone.

Sandra,

Those have only worked with this particular story to a certain degree, but they don't help when one scene has to top the next, in a manner that is as original as possible.

Johnny Dollars,

TV does not help, and this cable DVR is worse because now in theory, I can have quality programming all day long.

Typical Apple, now they want to take thinking away from their users as well.

In theory, communism works. In theory.

What happened to throwing on some tunes, drinking heavily, and stealing from others? Goddamn technobabble.

Stephanie,

Actually, I'm surprised that Droid didn't come up with it first. I do imagine that this app would take away some of the organic aspects of a story, and that it might do away with some of its originality.

Randal,

"What happened to throwing on some tunes, drinking heavily, and stealing from others? Goddamn technobabble."

Didn't you listen to Tea-baggers? The Communists took it away ; )

Do you think they have one of these for general work-motivation problems?

Coaster,

Heh-heh-heh. Well, you've done the change of scenery, maybe a job change would cure that.
